What should I do now that I am a member?

  1. Apply for a COD Library Card:  It takes about two minutes to get a Library Card (Photo ID is necessary:  you will need to apply in person)

  2. Visit the College and Career Information Center on the upper level of the Library to use the DuPage area's largest collection of books and audiovisual materials on job search, career, and college information.

  3. Contact the Reference Librarian for a brief update on the many reference/databases for use.  The Library subscribes to several really useful databases that can help you brainstorm ideas for assisting your job search.

  4. Register for the DEN Communication Forum at forum.cod-theden.org.  This communication forum enables you to receive DEN announcements, give you access to job postings, forum to post your resume, calendar/upcoming events and most importantly an opportunity to continue to network with other DEN members.

  5. Sign up for a NET-GROUP!  Net-Groups are informal group of three to eight job seekers who support each other by honestly unlocking the potential to identify their talents and skills as applied to employment.  Team members should assist each other by developing an understanding of potential employers and employers’ needs.   Team members need to incorporate some process to maximize accountability of the job search process.  The role of coaching is to forward the job seeking actions toward a focused goal.  Team members are on the same team and support one another.

  6. Attend the NetWorthing Seminar Series.
